Commissioners Court
The County Clerk serves as the clerk for commissioners court and keeps records of the proceedings.
In general, the clerk will perform the following tasks:
- Attend all regular and special meetins as ex oficio clerk of the commissioners court;
- Take minutes of all actions;
- Index and record minutes;
- Keep the official commissioners court seal and use it to authenticate the official acts of the court; and
- Preserve and keep all books, papers, records and effects belonging to the court.
Minutes must be recorded by the county clerk and approved by at least a majority of the court. The minutes for Commissioners Court are available to the public after their approval. Requests should include the date of the Commissioners Court if possible.
